Washington created an opening at quarterbacks coach this week when they promoted Kevin O’Connell to offensive coordinator and they reportedly interviewed former Bengals offensive coordinator Ken Zampese for the post. The coach who replaced Zampese when he was fired by the Bengals in 2017 is also reportedly in the mix for the job. Albert Breer of SI.com reports that Bill Lazor interviewed for the post on Tuesday. If Lazor does get the job Dwayne Haskins Redskins Jersey , it will be his second run as the quarterback coach for Washington. He held the position in 2006 and 2007 during Joe Gibbs’ second run with the team.Lazor was let go by the Bengals this month after Marvin Lewis’s 16-year run as the team’s head coach came to an end. 1st Quarter In-Game UpdateThe Bengals had the football to start the 3rd quarter after the Rudolph intercpetion Womens Jerome Bettis Jersey , but Pittsburgh’s defense didn’t surrender points off the turnover. The defensive stand gave the ball right back to the offense with good field position. For the first time, Rudolph and company were able to move the ball and put points on the board with a time-consuming drive aided by a big pass play to newcomer Deon Cain down the sideline. However, the red-zone offensive woes continued and the offense had to settle for a 26-yard Chris Boswell field goal. With the score 3-0, the Bengals got the ball back with 3:21 left in the first half and it took them little time to put some points on the board. It was all Tyler Boyd on the drive as he had a huge catch over Terrell Edmunds, and then a touchdown reception over Joe Haden to give the Bengals a 7-3 lead. With 1:51 left in the half, and all three timeouts remaining, Rudolph and the Pittsburgh offense failed to move the ball into even field goal range. After punting the ball away the score remained 7-3 heading into halftime. CINCINNATI (AP) — Joe Mixon scored on a 4-yard run and dashed toward the stands in celebration of Cincinnati’s go-ahead touchdown. On the Steelers sideline, Ben Roethlisberger looked at the clock, saw there was 1:18 left Jerome Bettis Jersey , and told his linemen not to fret.“They gave us too much time,” Big Ben said confidently.Somehow, the Steelers never run out of time at Paul Brown Stadium.Antonio Brown turned a short catch into a 31-yard touchdown with 10 seconds left Sunday, sending the Steelers to a 28-21 victory over the Bengals. They’ve now won seven straight against Cincinnati, a streak that includes highly improbable — and totally predictable — wins. The Steelers (3-2-1) sure saw it coming.“On the sideline before I went out, I told the guys, ‘This is what legacies are made of for all of us. Let’s go take care of business,'” Roethlisberger said.On the decisive play, Roethlisberger saw the Bengals (4-2) were set for an all-out blitz with no safeties guarding the end zone. He knew it would be a touchdown if he got the ball quickly to Brown James Conner Jersey , who caught it in stride, cut behind Justin Hunter’s block and ran untouched to the end zone.“We’ve been in that situation a lot, and I knew we were going to do it,” said Brown, who had five catches for 105 yards.During their seven-game winning streak, the Steelers have pulled them out at Paul Brown Stadium with 14 seconds, no seconds, and 10 seconds to go.They rallied to win a first-round playoff game in 2015 — aided by Vontaze Burfict hitting Brown in the head for a costly penalty — on Chris Boswell’s field goal with 14 seconds left. Last December, they overcame a 17-point deficit and won on Boswell’s field goal as time ran out.Now https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authentic-terrell-edmunds-jersey , this stunner.“We’re better than them,” Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick insisted. “They’re not better than us.”The statistics say otherwise. The Steelers have won 10 of 11 and 15 of 18 in the lopsided series. Some takeaways from Paul Brown Stadium:IT’S A RACEThe Bengals got an early cushion in the division by knocking off the Ravens and opening 4-1, their best start since they won the division in 2015. The Steelers got off to a ragged start at 1-2-1, but back-to-back wins over the Falcons and Bengals have evened up the division. The Bengals finish the season at Heinz Field.SHOCKING NUMBERSThe Steelers are 16-2 at Paul Brown Stadium during Marvin Lewis’ 16 seasons as the Bengals’ head coach, including playoff victories in 2005 and 2015. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is 20-5 against the Bengals. Andy Dalton is 3-12 against the Steelers, missing that 2015 playoff meltdown with a broken thumb.CONNER’S HISTORYJames Conner ran for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns, his second straight 100-yard game. Conner joined Hall of Famers Franco Harris (1976) and Jerome Bettis (2004) as the only Steelers to run for seven touchdowns in the first six games of a season, excelling as Le’Veon Bell’s replacement. Bell reportedly will end his holdout this week during Pittsburgh’s bye.“What a great game,” Roethlisberger said. “Now I know it’s his last game for us Womens Terrell Edmunds Jersey , so we’re glad he did well in his last one.”Roethlisberger laughed, clarifying that he was going entirely off media reports and speculation about what happens when Bell returns.BLITZBURGHAfter getting shredded in September, the Steelers’ defense has come around in the last two games. It got six sacks in a 41-17 win over the Falcons and sacked Dalton three times. Pittsburgh limited the Bengals to 123 yards in the second half.BURFICT REPRISEIn his second game back from his latest NFL suspension, Burfict was at the center of the riled-up rivalry. nto the game. A teammate pushed him away from Conner to help the linebacker avoid a penalty after a touchdown run. In the third quarter, Burfict hit Brown in the head as he was being tackled, but avoided a penalty. The NFL will review the play. In the locker room after the game, Burfict yelled at a reporter who asked another Bengals player about the hit on Brown.“A nasty hit,” Brown said.

Jalen defends his stance by playing the “I am very smart” card:I mean, I am a religious man myself, but I must have skipped over the part in Exodus where God commands the Hebrews not to have their children vaccinated against smallpox. Vaccines have been around since 1796 when Edward Jenner infected humans with cowpox, which is harmless to humans but does manage to make them immune to smallpox, which was a serious problem at the time. Since then, humanity has managed to nearly eradicate a number of diseases that had previously been major issues, such as polio https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic-antonio-brown-jersey , diptheria, pertussis, and rubella. While those are admirable principles Womens Derek Carr Jersey , vaccination is a public health issue opposed by quacky pseudoscience, and if one really believes the government that mandates these vaccines is out to get you, it’s within your rights and ability to go live off the grid.Do I know exactly what’s in every vaccine and what it all does? No, I don’t, and that does concern me on some level. But I also know that I’ve never had polio, measles or Hepatitis B, and neither have my children, and I have vaccines to thank for that. Can we start training camp already?
It has been a quiet couple of weeks on the No Bull front and I’ve been trying to put some thought into what is the bigger picture problem that the Broncos have. That’s led to an awful lot of looking back to see where we came from and what the team has done to improve when things have been bad in the past.Let me preface this by saying that for whatever reason Joe Flacco Jersey White , I’m not feeling my normal levels of “rah rah, Go Broncos” that I have in the past. Fans of other teams have even told me something to the effect of “welcome to what normal feels like.” I like to paint happy trees (RIP Bob Ross) for our fan base and try to focus on the positives. I especially like to do this when I talk big picture instead of just reviewing one game at a time. That’s not where we are as a team though...I can mathematically tell you that we aren’t eliminated from the playoffs. But my eyes tell me this season is over and has been for a few weeks. But enough bemoaning the season we are in...let’s talk about the situation for the team and what needs to change...Problem #1: We don’t have a sound quarterback on the teamYou don’t have to have a good QB to have success in the NFL...not in the short term. Ask our players who won a ring in 2015.Peyton Manning was very much not a good quarterback that season...and pound sand with the talk of how he “raised all boats” and “got us into the right play.”We won that Superbowl in spite of his play, not because of it.Honestly, to get to the root of the problem, we have to climb up above the normal team functions a bit and look at the General Manager of the team: John Elway. When he came on the scene, Tebowmania was gaining steam behind Kyle Orton, who wasn’t an answer to any question about long-term starting NFL quarterbacks. So Elways’ first order of business was to find a legit option.Lucky for his job security and for us as fans, Peyton Manning became a real possibility and Elway masterfully got Manning signed. The problem with the QB position started in 2014. Manning’s body started giving out and he lost a heck of a lot of his already somewhat limited arm. The last half of that season Manning just didn’t look like Manning anymore.I’d hesitate to say we only saw glimpses of the real Manning in the 2015 game against Green Bay...maybe a flash here or there to go with it.But the choices Elway made for the future of the team led us down the path of Brock Osweiler, Trevor Siemian, and Paxton Lynch.Brock Osweiler is a backup quality NFL player.Trevor Siemian is a real estate agent masquerading as a NFL player.Paxton Lynch is a lottery winning kid who likes video games.By my count, that’s three swings and three very big misses. And now here we are in 2018 halfway into a lost season where the team decided a wily veteran like Manning is the right answer. The team sung Case Keenum’s praises all off season long. It is so good to have a guy at QB who “gets it.”The problem is that the cake is a lie. We all wanted Keenum from 2017 to be at least 75% of what Keenum in 2018 would look like, but that’s just not who he is as a QB. We’re back to having Kyle Orton at the helm of the team and even our lingering hope for Chad Kelly went up in smoke.Solution #1: Get a QuarterbackI know this sounds crazy, but let’s just put the focus right where it needs to be: if you want long-term success in the NFL, you have to have a QB. Teams are pulling in young guys all over the place and grooming into NFL weapons. It is happening in Philly. It is happening in Kansas City. It is happening in frigging Cleveland for crying out loud.John Elway needs to stop giving excuses about how hard it is to find a QB. They are out there. You just need to be willing to sacrifice to make it happen. Most of the young guys that are the new news in the NFL were picked by big time trades happening. Selling future 1st round picks to make some noise needs to not only be an option on the table, but a significant option as far as the future strategy for this team goes. But there’s another problem that needs to be solved in this equation as well...Problem #2: We don’t have a sound coaching staffAgain, let’s angle back to the guy calling the shots: John Elway. It is very important to realize that this coaching staff who couldn’t coach their way out of a junior varsity high school game is the result of John wanting to go cheap. From what I have seen in the past couple of years, when Gary Kubiak wasn’t working out, Elway figured it was time to bring in some young, cheap options for our coaching staff with a nice big sprinkle of nepotism. Instead of Wade Phillips, we have Joe Woods.Instead of Kyle Shannahan, we have Vance Joseph. The thought process seems to me to be that the Broncos had in place a core team of talent that could carry a young coaching staff through their first couple of years and keep things competitive. The defensive talent alone was so good that surely the team would be at worst 8-8, right? The problem is that that’s not how the NFL works. Yes, young coaches can come in and have vast success. But they don’t do it by coming in and being “old school” in their mannerisms and thinking. Sean McVay isn’t the talk of the NFL because he decided to get great talent on the team and just keep using the same offense that Jeff Fisher was running. With coaching staffs you either need a veteran coaching staff with sound systems that they are able to still adjust and modify with ease or you need invigorated coaching staffs that are innovative and dedicated to making something new and effective.None of the past 3 coaching staffs that Elway has hired fits that bill outside of the microcosm of Wade Phillips’ defense in 2014 and 2015.Solution #2: Blow up this coaching staff and start overDon’t get me wrong here...I am a big fan of continuity for NFL teams from a coaching staff perspective. But the Broncos have the wrong kind of continuity going on. They leaned on Manning’s system to turn into a powerhouse offense and make up for the shortcomings of Mike McCoy and Adam Gase. They leaned on Wade Philips to get their 3rd Super Bowl championship. They are now leaning on depth coaches from the Kubiak tree and a young guy from the Philips tree to try and make a successful coaching staff. All of them are too green (outside of Bill Kollar who is amazing). One of the lessons I’ve learned in life is to judge things by the fruit that they bear. The fruit of this coaching staff is putrid. We’re going on 2 years of soggy, nasty underwear stank up in here. There is no future of this team that is going in the right direction that includes Vance Joseph as a head coach. I’m honestly a little puzzled that he survived the bye week.Problem #3: This team needs accountability, integrity, and leadershipThere are players and even coaches on this team that have these three things in spades, but that’s not what I’m talking about. One of the biggest things that this Broncos team lacks is top-down quality that comes from every level of the employees being held to the Broncos standard. This is likely a failing of winning Super Bowl 50 in all honesty. The GM Womens Courtland Sutton Jersey , front office, coaching staff, and players all got complacent. The standard wasn’t being still looked at. And now they have fallen into a hole.Of the 3 big problems I see here, this is the one that I think turns around with just a little spark. The foundation of the team is its players and I can not say enough that this season I’ve really appreciated how hard they have tried. The games we lose are close because of the effort that a lot of the players are giving and I honestly feel they are trying to hold each other accountable to the best of their ability. Guys like Chris Harris, Jr., Derek Wolfe, Von Miller, Case Keenum, and Domata Peko are all talking the talk and walking the walk. But they can’t overcome the lack of accountability that comes from higher up the ladder. Bad coaching is just allowed to happen. Poor personnel decisions are treated as no big deal. John Elway is likely not on the hook for a lot of the problems he’s caused because he can easily point to this year’s draft success. Solution #3: Rededicate yourself to excellenceThe egos need to go. Vance Joseph and his acting like he’s a big dawg is a frigging joke. He’s still chirping about nonsense with the latest being that the Broncos need to start faster. Shout out to Tim for pointing out right away that the Broncos actually are #2 in the NFL in 1st quarter scoring. John Elway needs to get out of his own way and get a coaching staff here that is dedicated to winning. Elway needs to focus on the personnel and keep his meddling out of the game day decisions. He should also think really long and hard about letting the new Head Coach or Offensive Coordinator head up the QB selection process. But behind all these little things is deciding that the Broncos Standard that Pat Bowlen put in place for decades is front and center. Pat isn’t in a place where he can hold people accountable and if the Broncos don’t start doing that the right way (the Pat Bowlen way), then this team has a lot of bad football ahead of it in the coming years. The past few weeks, the Kansas City Chiefs have made Carlos Hyde look like Earl Campbell, Marlon Mack resemble Eric Dickerson and Kerryon Johnson look a whole lot like Barry Sanders. No wonder they've lost their last two games, both of them at Arrowhead Stadium.Injuries have mounted on the Chiefs' defensive line, middle linebacker Anthony Hitchens also is hobbled and coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's switch from a 3-4 system to a 4-3 has failed to produce any noticeable improvement from a defense that has been lousy for most of Andy Reid's tenure. When it comes to stopping the run, lousy is putting it mildly."After six weeks, we haven't been good at it," said defensive end Frank Clark, whom the Chiefs acquired in a trade and signed to a $105 million, five-year extension in part to help stop the run."Some running backs are more well-known than others," Clark said, "but we're just making every running back we play look awesome. We haven't really shut down an offense this year and that's something we got to do in order to win. We kept keep putting the pressure on our offense to do everything."No matter how good that offense might be.The Chiefs had the ball for a mere 5:25 in the second quarter of their 31-24 loss to Houston on Sunday. They had it for 4:29 in the third and 1:25 in the fourth, which means league MVP Patrick Mahomes was on the field for less than six minutes total in the second half.A big reason for that is that Houston kept churning the ball on the ground, running for 192 yards to become the fifth straight team with 129 or more. Hyde finished with 116 yards and a touchdown against the team that traded him to Houston in the offseason, when it decided there was no place for him in its own backfield, and became the fourth running back in consecutive weeks to top 100 yards. It would be 5 for 5 if the Raiders' Josh Jacobs managed just one more yard in Week 2."You've got to bow up. That's why we're here and that's why we're professionals," linebacker Darron Lee said. "You got to go out and make a stand, make the plays. Teams are going to try and come here and run so you got to get your mind right."Along with Hitchens Womens Von Miller Jersey , the Chiefs' defensive front is missing tackles Xavier Williams and Chris Jones. But they struggled even before they went down with injuries, and their backups have been no better."We have to fix it. That's what has to take place," Reid said, "and I think there's a lot that goes into it. At times you can sit here and try too hard. It's not an effort thing, it's a maintaining-your-position thing, and we have to do a better job of that, getting ourselves working together, not overcompensating and giving up lanes, and communicating better."As the Chiefs prepare to visit Denver on Thursday night, when Phillip Lindsay is relishing the chance to look like Terrell Davis, here is one last look at their loss to Houston:WHAT'S WORKINGWide receiver Tyreek Hill had a couple of touchdown catches in his first action since Week 1, when he hurt his collarbone against Jacksonville, and gave the offense an early boost.WHAT NEEDS HELPJust about everything else. Along with poor rush defense, the pass defense allowed Deshaun Watson to throw for 280 yards on Sunday. On offense, the running game has produced 89 yards combined the past two weeks, and Mahomes has played below par — for him — while hobbled by a sore ankle.STOCK UPWide receiver Byron Pringle has played well while getting more snaps with . Defensive back Morris Claiborne also flashed more in his second game back from a four-game suspension, and he could become more helpful at plugging holes the more he plays.STOCK DOWNThe obvious answer is everyone on defense, but tight end Travis Kelce has had a couple of difficult weeks. He caught four passes for 58 yards against Houston, but he's also had a few drops in back-to-back losses, and the officials have nailed him for some costly penalties.INJUREDOne of the Chiefs' best cornerbacks, Kendall Fuller, needed X-rays on his hand after hurting it against the Texans. It's the same hand that Fuller hurt late last season, when he was forced to wear a cast during Kansas City's playoff run.KEY NUMBERZero — That's the number of punts the Chiefs forced on Sunday. They did force a trio of turnovers, including a pair of interceptions in the end zone, but it didn't do.NEXT STEPSThe Chiefs have a short turnaround before visiting the Broncos on Thursday night. They had a walk-through Monday and will practice Tuesday before heading to Denver.

The 3-star prospect from New Caanan, Connecticut received offers from Yale, Princeton, Cornell, and Harvard just to name the Ivy Leagues so it should be no surprise that he received academic honors at Boston College every year of his college career. On the field Allen has played every position on the defensive line. After playing primarily special teams his freshman year he set impressive benchmarks from himself his sophomore year. His junior year he did what few defensive linemen have ever done and legitimized himself as a NFL prospect when he was able to hit the 100 tackle threshold. This past season he showed what a pass rushing force he is while showing off he well-rounded he is in defending the run and creating turnovers. The big knock on Allen was that many doubted his athleticism. He showed at the Combine that it should not be much of a concern overall though he may fit best in certain schemes. He is considered a borderline 1st round prospect.StrengthsGood size, length Montez Sweat Jersey , and athleticism for a defensive end prospect.Plays in a disciplined and measured way. Aware of whats happening on the play. Rarely gets moved off his spot or takes himself out of plays with erratic movements. Strong at establishing contain on his side of the line. Let’s see his work:More Zach Allen videosHow He Would Fit On The RedskinsRyan Kerrigan and Supersized Ryan Kerrigan ought to make for an interesting dynamic in the Redskins front 7. A lot of things point to Allen becoming a good player especially over time. He is fundamentally sound. He doesn’t have to come off the field in passing downs. He’s a smart and active player. While I can see him playing strong side defensive end here with exception to Jonathan Allen the current Redskins DL starters all came into the league with better measured functional strength than Z Allen. The bench press is certainly no foolproof indicator of the strength of a player but you can see after watching Allen how much more effective he would be if this area was improved. Size might have also been a concern a few years ago but at 281 he is 5 lbs lighter than Jon Allen. I think Zach could make that work out. He plays with a really good football IQ and could come in and contribute to the rotation immediately. His abilities would certainly help the Redskins contain in the run game and he does bring a valuable dynamic as a pass rusher as well. While it certainly would rub some people the wrong way to spend another top pick on this position group the fact is that they are the identity of the team and quite frankly their ability to remain healthy and fresh will determine the overall success of the defense. Jon Allen and Daron Payne both played at least 75% of the snaps last year on defense only two other pairs of teammates did that last year (Suh and Donald | Myles Garrett and Ogunjobi re: Football Outsiders). Other team defenses simply swap out their guys more frequently than the Skins do (no doubt offensive success plays a role as well).what is the identity and key deciding factor in team success. Cowboys receiver Tavon Austin isn’t practicing today. He came out of Sunday’s game feeling fine but reported concussion-like symptoms earlier this week.“He had concussion symptoms coming out of the game, so we’ll just take his situation day by day,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Wednesday. “To be honest with you, he continued to feel some symptoms after the game. It wasn’t something that he needed to come out of the game for. So we just have to be mindful of that and take care of it.”Austin caught one pass for 8 yards and fair caught two punts. He believes he was injured while blocking.Austin’s situation could change Dallas’ plans for its open roster spot. The team intended to promote linebacker Chris Covington from the practice squad to take Jordan Chunn‘s spot on the 53-player roster. The Cowboys waived Chunn on Tuesday. However, the Cowboys now might add a receiver to the active roster instead.
The Antonio Brown era in New England won’t begin on Sunday night against the Steelers T. J. Watt Jersey White , but it could begin as soon as next Sunday afternoon, against the Dolphins.Per a source with knowlege of the situation, Brown is expected to practice on Wednesday. On Monday and Tuesday, he’ll be getting a crash course in the New England offense, likely from offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels directly.Ultimately https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authentic-juju-smith-schuster-jersey , it will be up to Brown to show that he knows the offense well enough to play. Once on the field, he’ll need to win the trust of quarterback Tom Brady to get the ball.Last year, receiver Josh Gordon sat out a game before making his debut after a trade from the Browns. It took him a while to get going, but in his fourth appearance he generated 100 receiving yards.Whenever Brown makes his debut, it’s clear the Patriots have high hopes. Apart from that money-speaks-louder-than-words signing bonus of $9 million T. J. Watt Jersey , a source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that coach Bill Belichick pressed pause on his preparations for Pittsburgh to become directly involved in the accelerated negotiations with Brown’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus. So Belichick clearly wanted Antonio Brown. And now Belichick has Antonio Brown. In Week Two, former Belichick lieutenant Brian Flores may get the opportunity to try to stop Antonio Brown. As the 15th anniversary of his Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger‘s selection as the 11th overall pick in the draft approaches, Roethlisberger has signed a contract that will dwarf the base six-year, $22.26 million deal he received in 2004. So how much will Roethlisberger make?Although the Steelers haven’t been shy about paying Roethlisberger close to market value Jerome Bettis Jersey White , Roethlisberger was careful about not letting out details of his last deal. That contract, signed in March 2015, put him at $21.85 million per year in new money, not far behind Aaron Rodgers‘ former rate of $22 million per year, the top of the market at the time.Rodgers is now at $33.5 million per year in new money James Conner Jersey White , and Russell Wilson recently jumped to $35 million.falls somewhere between Matt Ryan‘s $30 million per year new-money average and Rodgers’ current rate. The new contract will be a two-year extension. If the Steelers remain true to their past business practices, they will pay guaranteed money only in the form of a signing bonus and first-year salary. With $5 million already earned in March and $12 million more due this season, Roethlisberger could get a signing bonus in the range of $45 million, since that’s the only guaranteed money he’ll receive on what will be a three-year commitment. The two-year extension possibly will fall between $60 million and $64 million, putting the new-money average between $30 million and $32 million and the total value from signing of the new three-year deal at $77 million to $81 million Womens Jerome Bettis Jersey , with an average worth at signing of anywhere from $25.67 million to $27 million. For now, this is just as semi-educated guess. The real numbers eventually will be disclosed, even if Roethlisberger and his agent refrain (as they did in 2015) from trumpeting the numbers right out of the gates.
Raiders General Manager Mike Mayock said he made the decision to send scouts home three weeks ago to close ranks and prevent leaks. He informed them of the decision April 19 Womens Derek Carr Jersey , and the Raiders did not seek their input before making their three first-round selections.“I made the decision to do it three weeks ago, and I didn’t tell anybody,” Mayock said, via Scott Bair of NBCSportsBayArea.com. “It was my decision. And when the job got done and the work was over. . . .I inherited a group of scouts, and some of them may be with us, and some of them may not be with us by their own choice or not. At the end of the day, when the job was over, I brought them together as a group and respectfully and professionally told them that the job was done, thank you very much and that we would be talking.“And 40 minutes later we had a leak, which just reinforced the decision.”Since Mayock inherited scouts hired by previous G.M. Reggie McKenzie, turnover was expected after the draft. Mayock said he was surprised at reaction to his decision to send those scouts home before the draft.“I’m kind of blown away by the whole story, to be honest with you,” Mayock said. Alec Ingold saw others head to sunny locales and the beach to train for the NFL draft. While that definitely sounded like a good time and a nice place to go, Ingold knew it wasn’t for him. That would be unbecoming for a fullback.“I knew I wanted to be somewhere that was a little gritty,” the former Wisconsin Badger said.More Badgers coverageFormer Badgers star J.J. There he was able to focus on the task at hand while surrounded by, as he described it, a “blue-collar group.”Blue collar is, of course, an apt description for the position Ingold plays, and hopes to continue playing in the NFL. It is the anti-quarterback. Rarely touching the ball Antonio Brown Raiders Jersey , going largely underappreciated and generally walking through football life anonymously.Well, not always anonymously.Ingold was the only fullback invited to the Senior Bowl. Suddenly, he was the big man on campus.“It was funny talking to some of the coaches, they said to teams that use a fullback I was the pretty girl at school,” Ingold joked. While it felt good to be wanted, Ingold understands that in the NFL there are those who want nothing to do with him. He estimated around two-thirds of teams use a fullback, meaning he’s not even going to be on the draft board of 10-12 teams. For example, Ingold said the Los Angeles Rams use 11 personnel (one running back, one tight end, three wide receivers) the vast majority of the time, so he won’t be a teammate of Todd Gurley.Ingold said of the teams that use a fullback it’s a split on how they use one – some just want a blocker to protect a quarterback and assist a running back. Others want a player more involved in the offense, getting carries and catching passes. Ingold feels he can fit any role.“I think the more athletic and less of a battering ram probably suits me better,” Ingold said, “but I want to be a good fit for either mold. Being able to do the job no matter what it is.”At Wisconsin, Ingold had 103 rushes in his four seasons, gaining 343 yards with 17 touchdowns. He caught just 14 passes (all in his last three seasons) but averaged 13.2 yards per catch and had four TDs.“I try to show them, especially in workouts, that I can run around and be athletic and catch the rock a lot because it’s just something I want to show we practiced all the time,” Ingold said. “It showed up on film in spots. I just want to show them that I can be consistent with it, too. This last year was obviously a great year to watch film, and I put it on there Womens Bo Jackson Jersey , but getting in front of these teams and (to) do it time and time again was definitely huge.”That’s not to say Ingold can’t perform the other, more well-known duty of being a fullback. In his scouting report of Ingold, Dane Brugler of The Athletic wrote the former Badgers is an “eager blocker” and as “an extension of Wisconsin’s offensive line, Ingold searches for collisions as a blocker.”A former quarterback in high school (he said he lobbied Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst for an opportunity to throw a pass, to no avail) who was originally converted to linebacker with the Badgers, Ingold knows all too well the physical nature of the position. He’s friends with and has solicited advice from former Wisconsin fullbacks Bradie Ewing, Derek Watt and Austin Ramesh. When Ramesh quit the game after being signed by the Arizona Cardinals last year due to a history of head injuries, Ingold was there to talk with the fullback about his decision and support him. At the same point, Ingold isn’t worried about having the same issue. He said he’s never had a head injury and now, after talking with Ramesh, knows what it might feel like and what steps to take if he’s ever in that position.“But I’ve been really lucky, for whatever reason, my technique, how I play the position a little differently, I’ve been really lucky. … I don’t see any problems there,” Ingold said. “I don’t know if it’s (hitting) with the shoulders or facemask or whatever, I’m going to keep doing it because it’s working out.”Ingold gained a little national notoriety for his hitting in the Senior Bowl when one of his blocks went viral. Acting as a lead blocker a receiver end around, Ingold spotted a defender, waited and leveled him with his shoulder. The hit got Ingold an effusive hand slap from his coach at the game – Jon Gruden.“When they see a play like that, which is kind of signature, it’s a little different Womens Antonio Brown Jersey ,” Ingold said. “That all plays in trying to separate yourself and trying to get drafted.”Gruden’s Oakland Raiders happen to be one of the teams that does use a fullback. However, the Raiders weren’t one of the teams Ingold met with individually during this draft process (that doesn’t necessarily mean anything; teams have limited allowable visits). He did work out for the Saints and visit the Dolphins, Vikings and Packers. That latter one was a little more special than the others.A Green Bay native who drove past Lambeau Field countless times growing up and admittedly is a “big time” Packers fan, getting an inside tour of the stadium and meeting with front office officials and coaches was a bit “surreal,” but Ingold also knew he remained professional and knew this wasn’t a tour by a fan but a business meeting.“At the end you kind of have to be, ‘OK, that just happened.’ At the same time when you’re doing it, you have to kind of expect to be there,” Ingold explained. “You put so much time and effort into it, you have to expect to be there and show them why they should pick me.”Ingold of course isn’t sure how the draft will go as it pertains to him. Some teams have told him they hope they get the opportunity to draft him, others came across as trying to recruit him as an eventual undrafted free agent.on Day 3. He’ll watch with his family on TV – perhaps playing a round of golf first to help wile away the earlier hours – and wait for his phone to ring. When it does ring – and it will, eventually – whether it’s someone telling him he’s been drafted or trying to get him to sign as a free agent, Ingold knows his journey is just beginning.“At the end of the day I hear a lot it doesn’t matter how you get your foot in the door, you’re there,” he said. “So I’m taking that approach. I think that’s the way to take a look at it; it’s the starting line.”
LONDON (AP)It’s lights out for The Power. There was no fairytale ending to the incredible darts career of Phil Taylor https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-terry-mclaurin-jersey , with the game’s most successful player losing the world championship final in his last-ever match. Taylor, a 16-time world champion nicknamed ”The Power,” was thrashed 7-2 by former electrician Rob Cross, who was playing his first world final in his first year as a professional. The 57-year-old Taylor won his world titles between 1990 – the year Cross was born – and 2013, including eight straight from 1995. Cross and Taylor lifted the trophy together as the crowd at Alexandra Palace chanted Taylor’s name. Cross averaged more than 107 in the final. ”He was like me 25 years ago,” Taylor said. ”It was like I was at the end of my career and he’s at the beginning. It was an old man against a young man. It was mismatch really … I didn’t have the energy to beat him.” EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — There’s a cockiness about the Washington Redskins‘ defense. They’re shutting down some of the NFL’s top running backs, making life miserable for opposing quarterbacks, not giving up many points — and doing a lot of talking. Why not? The unit is the major reason the NFC East-leading Redskins (5-2) have matched their best start since 2008.Safety D.J. Swearinger intercepted two passes, Matt Ioannidis had 2½ sacks Montez Sweat Jersey , and the Redskins rode their defense to a third straight win, a 20-13 decision over the offensively inept New York Giants on Sunday. The Redskins sacked a battered Eli Manning seven times, forced the two turnovers, limited Saquon Barkley to 38 yards rushing and made big play after big play in sending New York (1-7) to its fifth straight loss.“We still have done nothing around here,” Swearinger said. “We beat them, but we haven’t won the division. We haven’t won the championship. We haven’t won the Super Bowl. There’s no room for lackadaisical. We haven’t done nothing yet. We’re just getting started. We’re just turning the stove on. We ain’t even put the grease in yet.”In some sense that’s true. The Redskins are winning and their offense is not lighting it up.Adrian Peterson caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Alex Smith and ran for a season-high 149 yards, with the last 64 coming on a touchdown jaunt with 3:06 to play. Dustin Hopkins added field goals of 53 and 39 yards for the Redskins“I think we’ve invested some resources in the defense, hoping they would pay off,” said Redskins coach Jay Gruden, whose team has a 1½-game lead in the division. “We hoping this is what we’re trying to build. In this division Dwayne Haskins Redskins Jersey , you’ve got to play great defense, in my opinion. This is critical for our success; until we get going offensively we have to win games like this. There’s nothing wrong with that.”The three-game winning streak is their longest in two seasons.Aldrick Rosas kicked field goals of 37 and 21 yards for the Giants. Manning, 30 of 47 for 316 yards, hit Evan Engram on a 2-yard touchdown pass with :17 to play.Engram also let a scoring chance slipped away at the Redskins 32 when a short fourth-down pass went through his fingers with New York down 10-3 early in the fourth quarter. The Giants came into the game wondering whether the trades this past week of starting cornerback Eli Apple and 2016 All-Pro defensive tackle Damon Harrison would be a problem. New York’s defense was fine. Its offense wasn’t, and the Redskins’ defense was very, very good.“We are not scoring enough points,” Manning said. “We are playing in close games and we are just not finding ways to win them, unfortunately. We have to be able to move the ball more consistently and we have to control the clock to help out our defense.”A major difference was Washington capitalized in the red zone, especially in the first half. Smith (20 of 32 for 178 yards) capped a 10-play, 73-yard drive with a TD pass to Peterson https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-dwayne-haskins-jersey , who stepped out of a tackle by backup linebacker Nate Stupar at the 4-yard line.New York had two trips inside the Washington 20. Swearinger ended the first, stepping inside of Odell Beckham Jr., to intercept a slant pass at the 8-yard line.Rosas kicked a 37-yard field goal on the second drive after passes of 11 yards to Beckham and 24 to Saquon Barkley got New York in scoring position.Beckham had seven catches for 125 yards.Hopkins missed a 41-yard field goal after the Swearinger interception.Washington never lost the lead in the second half as its defense kept Manning ducking most of the day.“Our confidence is already high,” Redskins linebacker Zach Brown. “We don’t care what running back is back there. We’re going to make you get out of that running game. We don’t want you to run the ball. We don’t want you to control the clock. We want you to pass the ball and we’ll let our boys back there do their thing.”INJURY REPORTRedskins: T Trent Williams (dislocated thumb), RB Kapri Bibbs (dislocated shoulder), S Troy Apke (aggravated a hamstring) and LB Ryan Anderson (sprained knee-MCL) were hurt during the game.Giants: RT Chad Wheeler left in the second half with an ankle injury and was replaced by Brian Mihalik.UP NEXTRedskins: host Atlanta on Sunday.Giants: a much-needed bye. How would the Steelers react if one of the top QB prospects falls in their lap with the 20th selection? They could do the unthinkable James Conner Jersey White , and select them. It's just crazy enough to work."Recently I wrote an article debating the merits of drafting BPA (best player available) versus PON (position of need) which resulted in some interesting debate and conversation. The general consensus was the Steelers were better served to utilize both principles when approaching their picks and breaking down their draft board. One concept I feel we can all agree on is categorizing prospects by their presumed draft value. This value is often in a constant state of flux because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Teams will rate each prospect differently based on their team needs and the projected fit with their organizations. However, most prospects will grade out within a round or two on each team's draft boards, unless they have been moved down the board or removed altogether due to personality or legal issues. That's how teams and draft experts rate value picks. It is far from an exact science and is more of a general consensus. Take last season's Steelers first round selection Terrell Edmunds for example. There was a bolt of excitement permeating through Steelers Nation leading up to last year's draft. Most of the fanbase felt a strong draft class could push the team over the proverbial hump. Then the first round picks started coming off the board and the Steelers hopes for their next great inside linebacker went up in smoke. By the time the Steelers pick rolled around I was thinking, "Now what?"When Edmunds selection was announced I can't imagine I was the only fan thinking "Who?" Now don't get me wrong. I was very familiar with Edmunds the player since I live in the area and follow the team. I am slightly knowledgeable when it comes to the WV Mountaineers and Virginia Tech Hokies players, and players from both their power conferences. I, like the Steelers, had Edmunds rated higher than some, but even I had him rated as a second round selection. Therefore, if I am being honest and based solely on my predraft assessment, the selection wasn't a good value pick. Now I must acknowledge that my opinion, like everybody else not in the Steelers draft room, is meaningless Womens Jerome Bettis Jersey , but the truth will set you free. The selection feels like a reach, a knee jerk reaction to the board not falling their way.The Steelers very well could be faced with a similar scenario this season when their pick comes up. Unless the Steelers go out of character and aggressively attempt to trade up, and find that seemingly elusive trading partner, it appears more than likely that their coveted ILB prospects will already be off the board. They may be left to choose from some overrated cornerback prospects and some uber talented receivers in a receiver rich draft class. The Steelers could also be faced with a interesting dilemma. What if Missouri QB Drew Lock is still on the board and represents by far your best draft value at that selection? What if the Steelers consider Lock at top ten talent? They would have to consider making the pick. Crazy I know, but stick with me for a second. We are strictly talking value here. No position holds their value like a NFL caliber QB. There are just not enough of them to go around. It is difficult to find 32 individuals walking the planet who have starting NFL QB capabilities. The NFL is driven by star power and QBs are the shining lights. Every team that doesn't have the One is looking for the One. Drew Lock is widely considered to have NFL starting QB potential and abilities, but based on the talent makeup of this draft class and the individual needs of the teams selecting ahead of the Steelers, it is not out of the realm of possibility that Lock could have a Aaron Rodgers type drop. The easy answer would be sit back and field any and all offers coming in to trade back, but what if they don't receive a offer that knocks their socks off and the best decision based on value is to select him? This could end up being a tricky situation. The Steelers are in the process of working out an extension for franchise QB Ben Roethlisberger. Ben was not pleased with the Mason Rudolph selection last year due to the team's more pressing needs and his expressed desire to continue playing through a contract extension. Ben might not look positively on the Steelers selecting another heir apparent in consecutive drafts. The decision to draft Lock might very well impact Ben's contract negotiations. This is where clear and concise communication between the Steelers and Roethlisberger comes into play. This extension represents the final contract of Ben's career and should result in him only playing for Steelers franchise for the entirety of his Hall of Fame career, but the truth is Ben isn't going to play forever. His competitiveness is legendary, but football isn't his whole life. Tom Brady's life, similar to Jerry Rice before him, seems to revolve around football. It appears he intends to play till his body will no longer allow it. Ben is the little kid playing on the playground Jerome Bettis Jersey , running around having fun. What happens when the game isn't fun anymore; due to unfair outside criticism, unavoidable aches and pains, or family responsibilities? I fear the end could come swiftly and unexpectedly. This contract extension is the Steelers opportunity to set Ben's mind at ease and reaffirm their commitment to Ben and his legacy. Go ahead and select Drew Lock. If you feel he could be Ben's eventual replacement, let him sit and learn. He is far from a finished product at this point. His value in the meantime could skyrocket after the draft or during the season due to injury and you find yourself with a Jimmy Garoppolo situation on your hands.Either way, great value pick. But make sure your franchise QB is on board first. FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — In a story Sept. 22 about former New England Patriots receiver Antonio Brown, The Associated Press reported erroneously that team owner Robert Kraft was arrested in connection with a prostitution and sex trafficking sting in a Florida massage parlor. Kraft was charged with two counts of solicitation of prostitution after police said he was twice videotaped during a paid sex act at the massage parlor, but he was never arrested.A corrected version of the story is below:In cryptic tweet, Antonio Brown appears to retire from NFLIn cryptic tweet, Antonio Brown appears to retire from NFL, takes shots at others previously accused of sexual misconductBy JIMMY GOLENAP Sports WriterFOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Antonio Brown went on a Twitter rant on his first NFL Sunday without a team James Conner Jersey , announcing he was done for good with the league that exiled him. Even though, he claimed, it had been more lenient toward others facing allegations of sexual misconduct. On the morning his most recent team was preparing to play without him, the fleet-footed but fleeting New England receiver said in a tweet: “Will not be playing in the NFL anymore” and took shots at Patriots owner Robert Kraft and longtime Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.Kraft has been charged in a prostitution and sex trafficking sting in a Florida massage parlor and has not been punished; “Different strokes different folks clearly,” Brown wrote.Roethlisberger was suspended for four games in 2010 after he was accused of sexual assault for a second time. “4 games for Big Ben crazy world I’m done with it,” Brown tweeted over a screenshot of a news article about the investigation.Several of the tweets had been deleted by the time the Patriots kicked off against the New York Jets a couple of hours later. One of the NFL’s most prolific receivers for a decade, Brown was traded out of Pittsburgh and released in Oakland after wearing out his welcome in both cities. The Patriots signed him anyway, and just days later a former trainer filed a civil lawsuit in Florida accusing him of rape. He played in one game, then was released after the team learned he tried to intimidate a second woman who accused him of sexual misconduct.Asked by CBS before the game what led him to end things, Patriots coach Bill Belichick declined to comment.Brown’s first tweet on Sunday seemed to indicate that he will fight the Patriots’ decision to withhold a $9 million signing bonus. The first installment is due on Monday, and the Patriots are attempting to void the deal even though they played him in one game despite knowing about two separate accusations of sexual misconduct.A person familiar with the process told The Associated Press that Brown has not yet filed a grievance, which the NFLPA would be obligated to pursue. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the grievance is not released to the public.Brown had also been guaranteed $29 million by the Raiders.“Will not be playing in the @NFL anymore https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authentic-terrell-edmunds-jersey ,” he wrote. “These owners can cancel deals do whatever they want at anytime we will see if the @NFLPA hold them accountable sad they can just void guarantees anytime going on 40m 2 months will see if they pay up !”Brown also appeared to condone threats made against the Sports Illustrated writer whose article included the allegations that led to Brown’s release. Over a news article describing the threats from some Patriots fans, Brown wrote, “System working effectively.”A four-time All-Pro who caught 837 passes over nine seasons with the Steelers, Brown wore out his welcome in Pittsburgh after he went missing for two days before the 2018 season finale. The Steelers traded him to Oakland, which signed him to a contract that would have paid him up to $50 million over the next three seasons. But he never played a game for the Raiders, quarreling with the coach and general manager until they, too, released him. The Patriots signed him only a few hours later, giving him a one-year deal.Belichick also declined to comment on Brown after the 30-14 victory over the New York Jets. Special teams captain Matthew Slater wished the man who was briefly his teammate well.“I wish everyone involved well,” Slater said. “I’m not the type of person who would wish ill will on anyone. I always try to take a positive spin on things. That’s where I’m going to leave it.”
Raiders coach Jon Gruden has praised receiver Antonio Brown as the hardest-working practice player he’s ever seen Womens Derek Carr Jersey , and the team is driving the point home. The Raiders posted on YouTube a video of Brown during mandatory minicamp, and it was easy to see why they think so highly of Brown’s work ethic.Brown was obviously hustling with every route he ran, but what was particularly noteworthy was the way he encouraged younger players. When undrafted rookie wide receiver Brian Burt said he plans to be a problem for opposing defenses, Brown encouraged that confidence.“You believe that? I like that. I’m already a problem,” Brown said.Brown was also shown talking to teammates about their conditioning, encouraging them to strengthen their legs with front squats, and showing them proper form.At the end of practice, Gruden told Brown, “I think you killed it today.”Brown replied Womens Bo Jackson Jersey , “Every day I’m gonna kill it for you.” Raiders safety Reggie Nelson was benched by coach Jon Gruden for Oakland’s game against the visiting Indianapolis Colts.Nelson had played in 82 consecutive regular-season games before being a healthy scratch on Sunday.Left guard Kelechi Osemele also was inactive for Oakland, missing a third straight game with a knee injury.Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri (right groin) and running back Marlon Mack (ankle) were active. Vinatieri entered the day needing five points to break Morten Andersen’s NFL career scoring record of 2,544.Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp sat out a second straight game with an injured knee, as expected, and the team activated just two running backs and two tight ends against the Green Bay Packers.Green Bay receiver Randall Cobb was active after being limited in practice with a hamstring injury. The Arizona Cardinals were without their top defensive lineman, Corey Peters (ankle) against the San Francisco 49ers, who didn’t have center Weston Richburg (knee).Earlier Sunday, star linebacker Khalil Mack sat out for the Chicago Bears against the New York Jets, the first game he’s missed since entering the NFL.The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos were down three starters apiece for their AFC West matchup.Chiefs center Mitch Morse was going through the league’s concussion protocol Antonio Brown Raiders Jersey , while linebacker Justin Houston (hamstring) and safety Eric Berry (heel) are also out Sunday. The Broncos, trying to snap a six-game losing streak against the Chiefs, were without running back Royce Freeman (ankle), right tackle Jared Veldheer (knee) and strong safety Darian Stewart (neck).while wide receiver Allen Robinson is sidelined by a groin injury. Mack had played in every game since he was selected by Oakland with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2014 draft; the Raiders traded him to the Bears before the start of this season. The Jets were short a trio of starters: wide receiver Robby Anderson (ankle), cornerback Trumaine Johnson (quadriceps muscle) and wide receiver Quincy Enunwa (ankle). The NFC East-leading Washington Redskins took on the rival New York Giants without starting cornerback Quinton Dunbar, who missed a second consecutive game with an injured shin. Washington was also without wide receiver Jamison Crowder, but two other offensive playmakers who sat a week ago were active: running back Chris Thompson and receiver Paul Richardson. Here are the inactive players for Sunday’s NFL games:
Wade Phillips returns to Denver this weekend and several Broncos can’t wait to hug it out with their former defensive coordinator.Phillips was the Broncos’ beloved bandmaster when they were riding firetrucks in a downtown parade and Von Miller was showing off the Super Bowl trophy 2½ years ago.“Coach Phillips is football royalty Womens Courtland Sutton Jersey ,” a man for whom “the moments were never too big and the moments were never too small,” said Miller, who recalled Phillips depressurizing his defense before Super Bowl 50 by declaring: “All the mistakes are on me and you can just go out there and play.”“It just shows you what type of coach that he is,” Miller said. “He’s dope.”Now 71, Phillips is leading a revitalized Rams defense for 32-year-old Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay, who brings a 5-0 team to Denver on Sunday to face the reeling Broncos (2-3).This game was supposed to mark Aqib Talib‘s return, too. But the star cornerback is sidelined with an ankle injury, which bums out Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr.“Definitely. You love having that competition,” Harris said. “He’s going to talk mess to me if we lose, and if we win, then I’m definitely hollering at him.”Harris is certainly embracing Phillips, win or lose.“Wade, he just gave you so much confidence in yourself. I’ll never forget, I had one bad game, and he’s just, ‘You’re the best. You’re going to get it next week. I’m ready for you next week. I’ve got a big game plan for you to make plays next week,'” Harris recounted. “He just knows how to lift you up and brings your potential out of you.”The Broncos didn’t renew Phillips’ contract after the 2016 season and McVay was thrilled to hire him shortly after becoming the youngest head coach in modern NFL history.“You’re probably going to have a tough time finding anyone that doesn’t really like him and enjoy being around Wade,” McVay said. “He’s got a great way about himself, a great feel for this game, he doesn’t take himself too seriously. He’s all about making sure that he listens to people, wants to try and put players in great spots.”Denver’s defenders still talk glowingly about their time with Phillips.“He’s an old guy Womens Von Miller Jersey , but he acts young,” Harris said. “He tries to be hip with everything and he just loves the game. It’s not hard to play for a coach that really loves the game, really wants to win.”Broncos coach Vance Joseph called Phillips “my football father,” a football genius and a great man.“He was a killer on Sundays,” Joseph said. “He had great timing with his calls and he was going to be aggressive. I’m watching this defense and it’s Wade Phillips.”Phillips, who began his NFL coaching career as an assistant for his father, Bum, in Houston in 1969, is now doling out praise and pointers with his 10th NFL franchise.“Man, Wade’s been around since dinosaurs have been here,” Broncos linebacker Shane Ray said. “So, I think he’s just got that feel.”Other subplots as the Broncos aim for their first win over the Rams since 2002:WOODS’ WOESPhillips’ protege, Joe Woods, hasn’t enjoyed nearly the same success since replacing him last season, and the situation is quickly becoming dire. The Broncos, who are 7-14 since Phillips’ departure, have surrendered 958 yards the last two weeks, but Joseph said he won’t be taking over the play-calling duties Sunday.“Joe’s the coordinator,” Joseph said. “So, he’s calling the plays.”CHANGES PROMISEDJoseph said he’d shake things up after Denver’s demoralizing 34-16 loss to the Jets, but declined to bench struggling cornerback Bradley Roby https://www.broncoslockerroom.com/authentic-von-miller-jersey , who allowed three long touchdowns and failed to follow proper protocol for calling in sick Monday. One change that might occur is Max Garcia replacing right guard Connor McGovern, but it appears left tackle Garett Bolles‘ job is safe despite being unable to break his holding habit.Poor protection has contributed to QB Case Keenum rushing his mechanics. He had just five TD passes, has already tied last year’s seven interceptions and is on pace for 42 sacks, about double the number he had in Minnesota last season.SNOW SHOWThe Rams are aware of the snow in the forecast for Denver this weekend — “Hopefully it slows them down a little bit,” Broncos GM John Elway said — but McVay isn’t worried about his warm-weather team’s ability to handle it.“Out here in Southern California, unless we want to go to an ice rink, I don’t think we can mimic and emulate that,” McVay said.RICKETY RAMSReceivers Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp both left their last game with head injuries, but are expected to play as the Rams seek their first 6-0 start since 2001.All-Pro kicker Greg Zuerlein has a groin injury, which means Cairo Santos will kick in Denver. Santos made both of his field-goal attempts in Seattle last week, including the winner with 6:05 to play, but also missed an extra point.___AP Sports Writer Greg Beacham contributed.___ Interesting.", the Broncos like Iowa tight end Noah Fant and could target him if they decide to trade back from 10th overall.Devin Bush was the hot rumor heading into today, but now we have reports of at least two teams(Falcons and Steelers) looking to jump them for him. It seems like a plausible move to with the Bills and Lions looking to move back, and they have the 8th and 9th overall selections that are right in front of the Broncos. So this could lead to the Broncos themselves trading back with someone. If they do find a trade partner, it appears Fant is someone they may target. Another name to watch if offensive lineman Dalton Risner who apparently the Broncos love and could consider moving back into round one for if they stay at 10. If the Broncos decide to go Fant, it would give them a dynamic weapon at tight end. He will be a match up issue for every team day one and be a great fit in Rich Scangarello’s offense that puts an emphasis on the tight end in the passing game. I personally would love this pick if it happened, especially with a trade back. This draft has a ton of value on day two, and the more picks you can get in that range the better in my opinion.
The Arizona Cardinals used the 10th overall pick of the 2018 draft on Josh Rosen https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-dwayne-haskins-jersey , hoping the former UCLA star would be their quarterback of the future.Rosen had some ups and downs during his first season, as many rookies do, but did nothing to dissuade the Cardinals from believing he could be their guy for years to come.Yet with the 2019 draft just around the corner, there's speculation the Cardinals could use the No. 1 overall pick on another quarterback.Kyler Murray's decision to play football not baseball creates a new option for an Arizona team with a new coach and a new offensive system. The Heisman Trophy winner from Oklahoma has a unique skillset, able to play in the pocket or beat teams with his legs, which could be a perfect match for coach Kliff Kingsbury's dynamic offense."We are not done with this process," Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said."We have not made a decision on the first overall pick. Secondly, there are a number of players in my opinion and our scouts' opinion and our coaching staff's opinion that warrant being the first overall selection."Rosen was a good fit for Steve Wilks' offense. Murray may be better for Kingsbury's.The new coach ran an offense at Texas Tech that put up prodigious numbers and had two quarterbacks — Case Keenum and Patrick Mahomes — who led the nation in passing. With a strong arm and superb running ability, Murray has the tools to slide right into Kingsbury's offense.Of course, all the Kyler Murray talk could just be a smoke screen. The Cardinals could be using the Murray speculation to drive up value and trade interest to possibly slide down in the draft, still get a standout player, along with more picks.Arizona could just use the No. 1 pick to shore up a defense that has struggled mightily Womens Dwayne Haskins Jersey , possibly Ohio State's Nick Bosa."They're both dominant players," Keim said. "They're can't-miss prospects."A few more things to look for from the Cardinals at the draft:CORNER NEEDEDThe Cardinals have been searching for a player to play opposite cornerback Patrick Peterson pretty much since they drafted the three-time first-team All Pro in 2011. Arizona has tried multiple players opposite Peterson and signed Robert Alford to a three-year deal after he was released by Atlanta, but he'll turn 31 during the 2019 season so the Cardinals may use a high pick to build for the future — possibly with the 33rd overall pick.HELPING FITZArizona got a huge boost when star receiver Larry Fitzgerald decided to return for a 16th season. Christian Kirk had a solid rookie season and the Cardinals signed former Chicago receiver Kevin White, who has struggled with injuries.Arizona could use a shifty receiver to play opposite Fitzgerald, particularly in the "Air Raid" offense Kingsbury wants to utilize. The Cardinals might also be interested in local product N'Keal Harry, big, physical receiver from Arizona State, but it might be a stretch for him to still be available at No. 33.O-LINE HELPArizona's offensive line struggled with injuries, keeping pass rushers away from Rosen and establishing a running game. The Cardinals should get some help with the additions of J.R. Sweezy and Marcus Gilbert via free agency, but need more depth. Some of that will likely come from the draft.PASS RUSHERSThe Cardinals have one of the best edge rushers in Chandler Jones and signed Terrell Suggs during the offseason. But Suggs is 36, so they'll have to hope he still has something left in the tank or add a young edge rusher. Arizona also could use help on the interior defensive line to play with steady Corey Peters. We don’t know if Trent Williams is any closer to a return to his team than he was months ago, on a psychological level. But we at least know he’s closer geographically.Via Les Carpenter of the Dwayne Haskins Jersey White , the wantaway left tackle is at least in town, as Washington running back Adrian Peterson said Thursday he had talked to him the night before — “In person, so . . . Yeah.” a new volley of questions about whether or when Williams might actually rejoin the team — after staying away all offseason and preseason because he was upset with the way the team handled his medical condition.Peterson was asked if he thought that was a sign Williams might be back soon, as former teammate DeAngelo Hall recently suggested.“I don’t know,” Peterson said. “I don’t want to get into all that. It’s Thursday, he won’t be in this week for sure. But that’s not really what we talked about. We just caught up and saw how he was doing and how things are going for him.”Peterson said Williams asked how the team was coming together, and mentioned that he had been working out and was in shape.“He’s doing good,” Peterson said.Which might be more than Washington’s offense can say, depending on how replacement left tackle Donald Penn holds up.
After taking down the Los Angeles Rams at Heinz Field to begin the second half of the NFL season for the Pittsburgh Steelers Womens Terrell Edmunds Jersey , many fans had hope the Steelers could possibly even run the table. Most fans had a more realistic view of the season, but there was always the possibility which creeps into the back of one’s mind. This hope didn’t last long as the Steelers dropped the next game to the Cleveland Browns. But what can we learn about the Steelers through this loss? There are some very interesting positives which could be taken as well as assessing a whole lot of negatives. So here are my opinions of what I was able to gather about the Steelers latest game. One of the biggest issues as to why this game may have been so awkward for the Steelers was that it was on a short week. I hate to beat a dead horse, but this issue and how the Steelers responded to it will be driving most of these points. Mason Rudolph is going to have some rough patches along the way This is a massive understatement considering the game that just occurred. Throwing four interceptions, many of which looked very bad, made this game far from Rudolph‘s finest moment. Yes, he was dealing with a plethora of injuries at key positions around him but we will save this for another point. As with a lot of young quarterbacks, whether or not they are playing well, they are due for a rough game eventually. Some people are ready to move on from Rudolph after one very poor performance. But the fact that Rudolph has been pushing the ball more down field then he was in previous weeks shows his progression. But we must remember, progression doesn’t always occur without setbacks.Mason Rudolph is by far not the first young quarterback to throw four interceptions in a game early in his career. In fact, the list of NFL quarterbacks who have had four or more interceptions in a game within their first 16 starts over the last 20 years has some interesting members. Other players who have had such a game include Sam Darnold (twice), Jameis Winston, Kirk Cousins T. J. Watt Jersey White , Cam Newton, Matthew Stafford (twice), Tony Romo, Eli Manning, and Alex Smith. Oh, and I forgot one… Tom Brady. Almost every young quarterback will struggle at times. They will also be games where nothing seems to go right. Hopefully that game is already behind Mason Rudolph. Minkah Fitzpatrick is a student of the game Since arriving in Pittsburgh, fans have absolutely fallen in love with Mikah Fitzpatrick. He sured up the back end of a defense in a way fans didn’t even realize was as necessary and as fixable as it was. But on Thursday night’s game, Fitzpatrick’s only stat line was two assisted tackles. Did Mikah just have a bad game? I have a completely different take. From everything his teammates have said, Fitzpatrick truly is a student of the game. He is constantly studying film and figuring out tendencies of the opposing team. Unfortunately, with hardly any preparation time from Sunday’s game to Thursday, Fitzpatrick was not been able to put in as much preparation time as all of his other games. Is this definitely what happened as to why he wasn’t as much of a factor? Nobody can say for sure. But I think knowing how much study Fitzpatrick does each week and the lack of time available to do it against the Browns did not give him as much as an advantage as it had in his previous games. The short week hurt the defense’s communication The Steelers gave up three touchdowns to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday. If we look at the actual plays in which players scored or set up the score it is very telling. On the first score by the Browns which was originally called a touchdown before Odell Beckham Jr. was ruled short, Steven Nelson was looking around as if he expected inside help on the route. It is unclear whether or not Minkah Fitzpatrick was pulled in by the play fake or if there was a miscommunication. Regardless of who’s fault it was and why Terrell Edmunds Jersey White , it was one of the few breakdowns in the secondary the Steelers have seen in recent weeks. On the second touchdown which was thrown to a wide-open Jarvis Landry, fans may not have caught that Joe Haden had come out of the game in favor of a goal line defense but then had to rush back onto the field at the last minute as there were not enough players. Chances are it was a miscommunication as to who was going to stick with Landry as he crossed the field and ended up wide-open for the score. The third touchdown by the Browns was set up when Mason Rudolph was intercepted with a return to the 4-yard line. After an incomplete pass and a run for a loss of 4 yards, the Steelers had a chance to hold the Browns to a field goal. But on a play where the pass rush could not get to Baker Mayfield as he escaped, the Steelers could have turned the game around in one play had Mark Barron looked up a half a second sooner and intercepted the ball rather than giving up a touchdown. While this touchdown isn’t directly related to any kind of communication issues per se, it is worth noting it was almost completely avoided. The coaches may be the MVPs of the Steelers offenseIt pains me to say this, but the coaches on the offensive side of the ball may not be getting the kudos they deserve. Personally, I’ve had some issues with offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner recently. But I’m willing to put those aside and look at exactly how this week went down for the Steelers. I had gone on record as saying I thought the Steelers held the advantage over the Browns with a short week because first year coaches generally do not perform well. It was a complete oversight on my part as I should have been focusing on the young players of the Steelers’ offense and the preparation they would need for their next game. It’s hard to argue against the Browns having a strong roster when it comes to player pedigree. They have been drafting in the very top of the draft for years and have the high-profile players it produces. Interesting enough, I now feel the short week of preparation played to the Browns advantage as their “Super Bowl caliber off-season roster” was able to just play the game and not get screwed over by the Brown’s coaching staff as they have many times this season. As for the Steelers offense, it was apparent to me that they need a lot of prep time for each game. They have young wide receivers, running backs, and quarterbacks. Add in the fact the Steelers top running back and top two receivers went out of the game with injury, this was a recipe for disaster for a very young offense. Not only did this team not have much time to prepare with the pieces they planned on having Womens JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey , there was hardly any time to prepare for the personnel who ended up on the field by the end of the night. The Steelers response to this game will define their 2019 season As bad as this game was for the Steelers, how they respond over the 10 days following the loss will set the tone for the rest of the season. With the added preparation time to deal with new players to the roster and to recover from injury, coupled with the fact they are playing a team who has yet to win a game, how the Steelers respond on both sides of the ball is key. Usually winning is the biggest take away from every game. But for Week 12, the Steelers need to play quality football first and foremost. Especially since “quality” is not a word that could have been used for Week 11. One day after grabbing a win against the Bengals Bo Jackson Jersey White , the Raiders have opted to sign former Cincinnati linebacker Preston Brown.Brown entered the league as the No. 73 overall pick in 2014 with Buffalo and tied for the NFL’s top tackling mark in his final year with the Bills in 2017. As the Bengals looked to get younger across the board, Brown no longer figured into their plans and was waived on Nov. 12. The Raiders linebacker corps has been porous this season, and their struggles with consistent tackling and pass coverage were apparent against Cincinnati. Brown may not be a long term solution, but he could be a solid band-aid for a unit that is relying much too heavily on Tahir Whitehead and Nicholas Morrow. In a corresponding move to fit Brown onto the roster, the Raiders decided to place Dwayne Harris on IR.The 32-year-old wide receiver and core special teamer has battled a foot injury that caused the team to trade for Trevor Davis earlier this season. Harris will be a free agent this offseason https://www.raiderslockerroom.com/authentic-derek-carr-jersey , so this move may effectively end his tenure in silver and black unless he is brought back for cheap next season. Reports surfaced early this month that the Raiders could play a preseason game in Canada, and the Packers have confirmed that they’ve talked about the logistics of being the Raiders’ opponent in that game. But first the NFL would have to find a venue. in Regina, Saskatchewan, home of the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders. Although the stadium has been discussed as a logical site for an NFL preseason game north of the border, CBC News reported today that the stadium won’t be available. The issue appears to be that the NFL was looking at a date one day before a Roughriders home game Derek Carr Jersey White , and that wouldn’t be enough time to get the stadium ready for the CFL game.If the NFL goes through with a preseason game in Canada, Winnipeg appears to be the most likely home city. The NFL used to play multiple “American Bowl” preseason games overseas each year, but popularity of those games waned and they were discontinued. The last NFL game in Canada was a Bills “home” game in Toronto in 2013.

They’ll do it not with a jersey patch but with a “Mr. B” logo on the team’s headgear.“We are going to do a decal on the helmet,” Broncos president and CEO Joe Ellis told reporters on Monday.”I don’t think he wanted to be attached to a jersey and probably didn’t want to be attached to a helmet either, but I do think we owe to him to honor him in that way. We will do something briefly before the game at our first regular-season game. I’m not going to call for remembrance during a preseason game. We’ll do it in a regular-season game. Tennessee and we will honor he and Champ Bailey. He, for his Hall of Fame appearance and Champ for his Hall of Fame and Ring of Fame appearances. That’ll be a nice moment. We’ll bring a lot of people back together here in Denver because not everybody can make it to Canton. Those are the things that are planned for him.”Bowlen passed last week at age 75. A one time only mock draft because Steelers fans have suffered enough this offseason"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Latest NewsSteelers Film Room2018 NFL Draft AnalysisLatest NewsNFL DraftLatest News2019 NFL Draft: Pittsburgh Steelers 7-round mock draftNew James Conner Jersey ,28commentsA one time only mock draft because Steelers fans have suffered enough this offseasonEDTShareTweetShareShare2019 NFL Draft: Pittsburgh Steelers 7-round mock draftRick Osentoski-USA TODAY SportsWe have finally reached that stage of the offseason where I subject readers to my annual mock draft, a one-time only offering that has not really been accurate since correctly predicting the opening few rounds of the 2013 draft. That year I called the selections of Jarvis Jones, Markus Wheaton, Shamarko Thomas and Landry Jones, arguably one of the worst draft classes the Steelers have picked in recent memory. That should give you some sort of indication of my eye for talent and it is perhaps also worth noting that the one player I missed out on in the early rounds that year was Le’Veon Bell. I went with Eddie Lacy instead. In 2018, James Washington in round two was the only pick I had right https://www.thesteelerslockerroom.com/authentic-terrell-edmunds-jersey , while James Conner was the only player I correctly identified in 2017, albeit going to the Steelers in round five. Genius right? If you are still reading at this point, I can only assume you are interested to see which names I have cursed by slotting them to Pittsburgh. So what that in mind, I apologize for jinxing any of your favorites by including them in my mock.It is hard to picture the Steelers using all 10 of the picks they currently own and it would not surprise me to see a move up in the first-round to grab Michigan linebacker Devin Bush if they get close enough to take him. For all the talk of Temple cornerback Rock Ya-Sin as the name the coaching staff has zeroed in on at No.20, I struggle to see Pittsburgh taking him over names like Byron Murphy and Greedy Williams. My conviction it will not happen probably means that Ya-Sin is the pick.Among the other players I considered for my curse this year were Penn State running back Miles Sanders and Georgia wide receiver Mecole Hardman in rounds three or four, Florida safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson or Michigan State cornerback Justin Layne in round two and Williams or Murphy in round one. Wisconsin edge rusher Andrew Van Ginkel also narrowly avoided being included as a round six selection and LSU tight Foster Moreau was almost the pick in round five. Hopefully I have not jinxed them all just by mentioning them here. round picks under contract.Shortly after they announced the signing of defensive end Isaiah Buggs Womens Terrell Edmunds Jersey , the team announced that they have also signed Sutton Smith. Both players signed four-year deals.Smith played defensive end at Northern Illinois, but the team plans to move him to linebacker in the NFL.“We’ll look at him outside, inside, anything that we feel like that he can fit us,” defensive coordinator Keith Butler said, via the team’s website. “He is a quick guy. He’s going to add some depth and help us on special teams. We know that he’s a great rusher. He’s going to create some great competition for us Terrell Edmunds Jersey White , which is always good.”Smith had 58.5 tackles for loss and 30 sacks in college. The Steelers now have seven unsigned draft picks, including first-round linebacker Devin Bush.
ALAMEDA Womens Derek Carr Jersey , Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Raiders have signed kicker Daniel Carlson and waived Matt McCrane.Oakland also promoted receiver Marcell Ateman and offensive lineman Denver Kirkland from the practice squad Tuesday to fill open spots on the 53-man roster.Carlson was a fifth-round pick by Minnesota this season after setting the SEC record for career points in college at Auburn. He was released after two games with the Vikings. He missed three field goals in a tie against Green Bay on Sept. 16, including tries from 35 and 49 yards in overtime.McCrane kicked the game-winning field goal in overtime for Oakland on Sept. 30 against Cleveland, but has missed four kicks in three games and has struggled to generate touchbacks on kickoffs. The Raiders also signed running back James Butler to the practice squad and waived safety Obi Melifonwu from the injured reserve list. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Patrick Mahomes stalked Chiefs wide receiver Damarcus Robinson on the sideline as chants of “MVP” echoed throughout Arrowhead Stadium, trying to track down a football that would serve as a keepsake not only of this night but of this season. The first-year starter had just thrown an 89-yard scoring strike to Robinson, the 50th time one of his passes ended up in the end zone. It also gave Mahomes more than 5,000 yards passing, not to mention put a dagger in Oakland and clinched the AFC West title and No. 1 seed in the playoffs.“They’re special,” Mahomes said after securing that memento, and after Kansas City had wrapped up a 35-3 whitewash of the Raiders on Sunday. “To do those things in this league, that doesn’t happen.”Not very often anyway.Mahomes finished with 281 yards passing, the highlights the strike to Robinson and a 67-yard TD pass to Tyreek Hill. That gave him 5,097 yards and 50 touchdown passes, and allowed Mahomes to join Peyton Manning as the only QBs to hit 5,000 and 50 in the same season.“This team, we love each other. We root for each other. And that’s why we’ve had so much success,” said Mahomes, who already had shattered just about every franchise passing record.Hill finished with five catches for 101 yards, becoming the Chiefs’ single-season leader for yards receiving with 1,479, while adding a fourth-quarter touchdown run. Damien Williams added 51 yards and a score on the ground as the Chiefs (12-4) beat the Raiders for the eighth time in nine games. The decisive win came after Kansas City squandered a chance to clinch the division with a fourth-quarter collapse against the Chargers and again in a shootout loss last weekend in Seattle.“This was a tricky game,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. “We felt like we let off the accelerator there lately and we didn’t take advantage of opportunities.”No problem with that on Sunday.Derek Carr had his league-leading streak of 332 passes without an interception snapped when the Chiefs’ Daniel Sorensen returned a pick for a touchdown in the first quarter. Carr threw another pick and lost a fumble as Oakland (4-12) turned the ball over on its first four possessions. He finished 23 of 32 for 184 yards, and Doug Martin ran for 100 yards but also lost a fumble, as the Raiders headed into an offseason of uncertainty surrounding where they will play next season.“Obviously, we got a lot a work to do,” said Raiders coach Jon Gruden, who wrapped up his first season back with the franchise. “I know today was not a good note Antonio Brown Raiders Jersey , but it’s a great group of guys who laid quite a foundation and I think we can build on that. I’m excited about that.”The Chiefs eliminated any drama in the first 20 minutes.Mahomes started the scoring barrage when he threw a perfect post pass to Hill, who waltzed into the end zone for his long touchdown reception. And a few minutes later, Sorensen stepped in front of tight end Jared Cook — who had inexplicably stopped his route — for a 54-yard pick-6.The Chiefs defense kept causing turnovers, and Williams capped another effortless drive with a short touchdown run, giving Kansas City a comfortable 21-0 lead late in the first half.“This was a tricky game,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said, “and the guys took care of business.”The league’s highest-scoring offense continued its onslaught after the break.Mahomes delivered the clincher when he floated a pass deep downfield to Robinson, who ran out of the grasp of his would-be tackler. Robinson was so far ahead of the defense that he turned around at the 15-yard line and backpedaled into the end zone — getting a taunting call as his reward. Not that it mattered for the Chiefs, who were already celebrating their postseason bye and what they hope is a Super Bowl road through Arrowhead Stadium. Hill merely added to the party when he added his rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the game away.“We’re all trying to reach a goal,” Hill said, “and that’s the Super Bowl. Head down, and we’re all focused, man. Like I said, it feels great, but right now, I just want to win the Super Bowl. We just want to win the Super Bowl.”100<button class="view-gallery">View Gallery</button> Gallery:View from the sidelines: NFL cheerleaders 2018Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports | Raj MehtaKELCE’S CATCHESThe Chiefs’ Travis Kelce had five catches for 62 yards, giving him 1,336 yards this season. Tight end Jake Butt‘s long recovery from his third torn ACL is set to take a step forward on Wednesday.Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that Butt is expected to be a full participant in team drills at Broncos practice. It’s a non-padded session John Elway Jersey White , but still a sign of progress for Butt.Butt tore his ACL three games into the 2018 season and head coach Vic Fangio said early in camp that he’d hit a “little pothole” in his recovery. Butt missed a lot of time at the start of camp while navigating around that setback before finally resuming on-field work.Butt also tore his ACL while at Michigan and in his final college game, but called this rehab “the hardest thing” he’s done in his life earlier this month. If he’s well enough to make the 53-man roster at the start of the season, Butt will vie for snaps with Jeff Heuerman and first-round pick Noah Fant. ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Demaryius Thomas‘ trade from the Denver Broncos to the Houston Texans wasn’t so much a good-bye as a see-you-later.As in Sunday, when the Texans (5-3) visit the Broncos (3-5).“I thought about it, yeah,” general manager John Elway said Tuesday. “But, ultimately, we had to look past that and (we) thought that it wouldn’t affect our game.”So, Elway sent his big wide receiver to the Texans for a 2019 fourth-round draft pick. The clubs also swapped seventh-rounders in next year’s draft.Thomas, a ninth-year veteran who was first or second on most of Denver’s receiving records, has 36 catches for 402 yards this season.Despite averaging a career-low 11.2 yards per catch, Thomas’ three TDs were tied with Emmanuel Sanders for the team lead and gave him 66 for his career, including the playoffs.“We were not hell-bent on trading Demaryius,” Elway said, explaining he was swayed to make the move by the package of picks and the rise of rookies Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton along with that of second-year pro Tim Patrick , who caught his first career TD pass last week.“It’s never easy when you trade a guy that’s been a household name around here for a long time and done a lot of great things Womens Royce Freeman Jersey , not only on the football field but also in the community, and is a good man,” Elway said.“Plus, it’s a good spot for Demaryius. He’s going to a good football team that’s in a pennant race. So, it’ll be good for him, too.”The AFC South-leading Texans, who beat out “three or four other teams,” for Thomas’ services, according to Elway, found themselves thin at wide receiver when they lost Will Fuller for the season to a torn knee ligament last week and have had trouble keeping rookie Keke Coutee (hamstrings) on the field. In a conference call with Denver media on Tuesday, Texans coach Bill O’Brien said he’s followed Thomas since the 6-foot-3, 230-pound receiver was at Georgia Tech before the Broncos selected him in the first round in 2010.“He has excellent athletic skills, great hands, very smooth route runner,” O’Brien said. “He’s a tough guy to defend.”And now it’s the Broncos who will have to defend him.Thomas has a salary cap figure of $15.53 million for 2019, the last year of his deal, and with the emergence of Sutton as a big-play threat Courtland Sutton Jersey , Elway felt it was time to get something for Thomas, who was unlikely to return next season anyway.Sutton is a younger, rawer version of Thomas, a thick receiver who is adept at pulling down 50-50 passes who will now start alongside Sanders.“Hopefully this accelerates his maturity,” Elway said of Sutton, a second-round pick from SMU.Elway said this isn’t evidence the Broncos, losers of five out of six, are giving up on the season, either.“When you lose a guy like Demaryius, we’re going to lose a little bit. But I think where we can make it up is the youth and the young guys and getting them experience as this year continues,” Elway said.Elway said it was difficult calling Thomas into his office to trade him.“It’s an end for him and us, but as I told him, he’ll always be a Bronco,” Elway said. “It ends his career here but not his career in the NFL. And know that look at it as eventually the Broncos will be reunited with Demaryius.”So that he can be inducted into the team’s Ring of Fame.Josh McDaniels’ first draft pick, Thomas has amassed 66 touchdown passes in 135 games, counting playoffs. He’s served as a captain and was a durable, consistent go-to receiver for quarterbacks Tim Tebow Royce Freeman Jersey White , Kyle Orton, Peyton Manning, Brock Osweiler, Trevor Siemian and, this year, Case Keenum.Thomas’ 36 100-yard games are the most in Broncos history and his 60 TDs in the regular season and 9,055 yards are second only to Rod Smith.A five-time Pro Bowler, He caught Manning’s 509th and 510th touchdown throws that tied and broke Brett Favre’s all-time record in 2014, and appeared in two Super Bowls with Manning, setting a Super Bowl record with 13 catches for 118 yards and a TD against Seattle. Two years later, he won a championship at Super Bowl 50 with his mother in attendance. She had just been released from a federal penitentiary after then-President Barack Obama commuted her drug sentence that had taken her away from her son when he was a young teenager. For many, Thomas’ top moment was his 80-yard touchdown catch from Tebow on the first play of overtime that gave Denver a stunning 29-23 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in an AFC wild-card playoff game on Jan. 8, 2012.“He made so many big plays,” Elway said. “Obviously the Pittsburgh one is the one that stands out that we all remember. But he’s a guy that was very productive and consistent for a long time and was healthy most of the time, too. So, a guy that we could rely on.”And one they’ll see again very soon.
Heinz Field turf when the scrum started T. J. Watt Jersey White , one that sent a message that at the moment it might be unwise to mess with the Pittsburgh Steelers.Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and right guard David DeCastro were not particularly pleased with how Carolina safety Eric Reid launched himself at Pittsburgh’s franchise quarterback as Roethlisberger finished off an 18-yard scramble during the third quarter of a 52-21 dismantling of the Panthers on Thursday night.Together the two perennial Pro Bowlers — a combined 630 pounds give or take a meal — let Reid and a handful of his teammates know they didn’t appreciate Reid’s approach to his job. What followed was 30 seconds of flexing, grabbing and shoving before Reid was ejected for targeting.“You’ve got to be there for your guy,” DeCastro said. “Just trying to stand up for him and show him we’ve got his back.”As the Steelers made their way back to the huddle, Roethlisberger gave his linemen peace of mind should the NFL decide to hit their wallets after sticking up for him.“Ben came up after and said, ‘If any fine gets handed out Womens James Conner Jersey , I’ll handle that,'” Pouncey said with a laugh.Pouncey, in the fourth year of a five-year contract that will pay him $44 million, can certainly afford to write the check. He believes the fact he won’t have to if it comes to that says a lot about Roethlisberger — and a lot about the current climate within the Pittsburgh locker room.“It’s cool man,” Pouncey said. “I appreciate all the guys repping like that.”Those guys have found their identity over the last five weeks. Pittsburgh (6-2-1) set a record for the most points by an NFL team in the 17-year history of Heinz Field while rolling to a fifth straight victory. The reward? Five days off to rest up before starting a daunting final stretch that begins on Nov. 18 in Jacksonville in a playoff rematch that saw the Jaguars stun Pittsburgh at home in January.“Last year is last year T. J. Watt Jersey ,” Steelers cornerback Mike Hilton said. “We’re a different team just like they’re a different team.”If anything, Pittsburgh looks much better than while getting pushed around by Leonard Fournette and Blake Bortles in a confidence-shaking 45-42 setback that led to an exodus in both the secondary and portions of the coaching staff.Randy Fichtner took over for Todd Haley as offensive coordinator and, even with star running back Le’Veon Bell sitting out due to concerns with his one-year contract, has put together an attack that looks as dynamic and varied as anything in the league.James Conner, Bell’s replacement Jerome Bettis Jersey White , already has 11 touchdowns through nine games, as many as Bell has scored in any full season. Roethlisberger spread the ball all over the place on a night he finished with more scoring passes (five) than incompletions (three).“We’ve got a lot of weapons on this team and Ben showed it tonight getting the ball to all of them,” DeCastro said.Roethlisberger’s only complaint is that Fichtner may get a little too loud in the headset because he’s so pumped up about the next play call.Pittsburgh’s defense kept Carolina’s Cam Newton under wraps, sacking him five times while limiting the Panthers to 242 yards, the fourth straight game an opponent has finished with 275 yards or less. Save for a couple of early communication breakdowns that allowed Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey to get loose James Conner Jersey White , the Steelers kept things tight.“I don’t think it’s a come-to-Jesus moment where something miraculously just happened,” defensive tackle Cam Heyward said. “I think everybody got back to work. It showed on the practice field and it showed ever since. This is a big win, but it’s not like we don’t have games after this. We’ll enjoy it for tonight and enjoy it for the weekend, but when we get back in we have to get back to work.” PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers have hired Teryl Austin as a senior defensive assistant coach. The team announced the move Friday, adding that Austin’s focus will be the secondary. Austin has coached in the NFL for the better part of two decades Womens Jerome Bettis Jersey , including stops in Detroit and Cincinnati as defensive coordinator. Austin previously worked as a secondary coach for Seattle, Arizona and Baltimore.Pittsburgh finished a respectable 10th against the pass in 2018 but struggled to generate takeaways and couldn’t find any consistency at the spot opposite veteran Joe Haden. The Steelers finished with just eight interceptions, the fewest in the AFC.The 53-year-old Austin grew up in western Pennsylvania and played four seasons at defensive back for the University of Pittsburgh during the 1980s.The hiring is the latest in a series of staff adjustments made by Pittsburgh after finishing 9-6-1 and missing the playoffs. The team fired running backs coach James Saxon and outside linebackers coach Joey Porter last week.
